How a fake broker pulled me in with promises too good to be true
After that first call, Matt stayed in touch. He texted and emailed me almost every day. He wanted me to feel like I was his top priority.
He told me he could get me not just one loan, but three rounds of funding. First, $75,000 right away. Then, once I paid part of it back, $150,000. After that, $300,000.
“No more applications,” he said. “No more waiting. You’re already approved.”
It sounded perfect. My business needed cash to grow, and this felt like the answer. Matt even said he had a legal team and underwriters standing by. He made it sound like everything was already set up and ready to go.
Every time I had a question, he had an answer. Every worry I raised, he brushed away with confidence. He told me not to overthink it, because he had done this hundreds of times before.
Looking back, it was all part of the script. The calls, the texts, the daily promises. It was meant to win my trust and keep me moving forward without asking too many questions.
That was the false MCA promise.
That was the start.
This was the hook
